I'm going down to mission bay, in california, on friday, and we will stay there until thursay. then guess what..... THE BFT TRIP! chris and i are going down there, we are gonna go float tubing and shore fish, ride jetskiis, and i don't know what else. but i'm sure fishing will take up most of our time. I was wondering if any of you guys have fished in that bay down there and what kind of fish you guys caught. last time we went we cause a lot of shovelnose sharks, and spotted bay bass, but i'm sure that is not all that is in there. joe
headless....thats exactly what i meant. joe
Do you mean that the poor lady had no head? Man, that must have been tough to steer. I almost got run over in a float tube once when a female water skier came by with a whole bunch of boats escorting her. She evidently came from a very poor family because she couldn't afford a swimsuit...nothing. The guys in the other boats were not watching where they were going and I nearly got "propped" and 'Hulled". You know, not one of those guys offered that poor girl a towel or anything to cover up with.
HAHAHAHA YES!!! last year i saw some topless chick riding a jetski. it was AWESOME!!! haha joe
Spotted bay bass are the most common lure-munchers. Some sand bass and an occasional lost calico. Lots of short halibut, with some big ones on occasion. There are even some junior WSB that come cruising in during the wee hours, around the channel entrance. Depending on where you fish and what time of day and what you are using for bait, you can catch corbina, spotfin croaker and even a stray BONEFISH or two. There are always lots of members of the shark and ray family in there. Hook a big bat ray and water ski behind it. Tides can be important. You have to watch for currents and the same currents get the fish moving and biting. Hit the points and pilings in the current and you never know what might hit. Be careful. There is a lot of potential for "eye strain" down there. Definitely a good place to watch the scenery. Just don't let it distract you from the important stuff, like fishin'.
