Can't decide to hit PV or EC this weekend. Never been to either one so it will be a new experience for both. Myself and a few buddies are taken our tubes out and going to try to get into some fish that are a little closer than UL from the base where we all live. Thanks to TD we've been able to catch lots of fish down at UL but the drive down there is just a little too long. So if anyone could make a suggestion, and point us in the as to where we should start fishing (not looking for your secret honey holes) that would be awesome! thanks a lot. Oh and we will fish for anything cats-trout.
pineview would be my suggestion of the two but as others have stated with the utah holiday it will most likely be a zoo, but there is some good fishing to be done that is out of the way of the boaters but will still have to deal with the waves they create. I would say the spring creek / swim beach area (recreators cannot operate above wakeless here not saying they will follow the rules) but there will most likely be lots of picnickers / swimmers around there.
I'll second the vote for Pineview, but no matter where you go it will be a zoo...with the Utah holiday weekend. More species and more fishable shoreline...if you don't get washed up on shore with the bow wakes.
PV = small mouth, crappie, and the fish of 10,000 casts (tiger musky). its fun along the rocks in the narrows and all of the submerged cover along the banks. EC = small mouth, rainbows and tiger trout. i personally love the upper sections of the lake for small mouth. you could also give Oneida in Idaho a try. wall eye small mouth and carp. pretty lake, havent really seen it as crowded
